Bachelorette Buzz

Getting married involves a lot of planning and a lot of parties. This weekend I had my bachelorette party, which was way more raunchy than I had previously imagined it:) No, I'm sure it was much more laid back than others that have taken place, but for me, it was pretty bad, in a good way:)

We started the day off with pedicures and manicures with all the girls. After that we had a little party Kristen's and opened gifts and got ready for the night out. Once we were "ready" we went downtown to Excalibur for the "World's Biggest Bachelorette Party." This is were craziness erupted. They were twin strippers who closely bordered the lines of inappropriate or possibly illegal for about an hour and half. It was scary and hilarious at the same time. We had a great time doing this and then danced and had a great time. We had to leave to bring one partier home but luckily a guy offered to pay for our cab back downtown, so no harm done. It was great being out with all the girls, we had a lot of fun:)

Vows and Music

We were in Michigan this weekend to visit the families and meet our pastor. He is actually my mom's cousin and I'm really grateful to have him at our wedding. He has the type of personality that could make the most nervous person laugh. He reminds me a lot of my uncle, who by the way, is also quite hilarious. We discussed the ceremony and our vows. He really wants us to make the ceremony our own so we're now in the process of trying to come up with something of our own. We've started but need to finish, hopefully this happens soon:) On another note, we're still working on invitations, which reminds me to call my aunt about the bridal shower list. That's all for now, I obviously have other more important things I should be doing, right?

Weekend Accomplishments

So I didn't get quite as far along with things as I wanted to this weekend, but let's focus on the positive, shall we? I did manage to at least get an idea of what I want the invitation layout to look like, so that's a start. We did turn an ordinary trip to the mall into a wedding ring buying adventure. Luckily, we both left quite happy with that little piece of jewelery we'll wear on our finger forever. I love how they keep saying that to you at the store, "are you sure you like the feel, you will have to wear it forever," or "you may not want to get a metal that will scratch since you will have to wear it forever." Ok, we get it, you have to wear it forever, do that many people get to that stage in the process and thank the jeweler for putting things in perspective for them?! Anyhoo...that's done. I also managed to layout a general outline for the "event." Funny how many details go into a wedding. I think having a wedding should come with a warning label. Really though, as sarcastic about the planning as I am, I'm starting to see light at the end of the tunnel and excitement is becoming a regular feeling.

Honeymoon

Honeymoon planning is officially over:) Less than 10 weeks and I'll be soaking up the sun and walking in the soft white sand of Anna Marie Island. We've decided on this location due to a "teaser trip" that Kristen and Dan took us on. By the way they rock and we had a GREAT time! In fact, it was so nice that we've decided to go back and stay a bit longer this time. We're looking forward to also visiting Honeymoon Island State Park and the Caladesi Beaches while we're there. I read that visitors often spot wild dolphins in the water at sunrise. That's my idea of pure relaxation. You can get a better idea of what we're looking forward to going back to in the pictures of our first trip with Krisdan.

Bridesmaid's Dresses

Searching for the perfect gift for the girls to wear with their bridesmaid's dresses. I think I've finally found it. Pleased to check one more item off the ever daunting to do list:)

10 Weeks!

I honestly can't believe we're getting married in 10 weeks! It's coming up so fast and I'm actually beginning to get excited. Now that a lot of the planning is underway and I can see things coming together I see that it's going to be great! The thought of a seeing all my friends and family together to celebrate with us is really special to me. Hopefully things continue to run as smoothly as they have. I have to get motivated about the invitations...my goal of the weekend, at least get them printed...:)
